we’ll learn to work with coils — stack them high to make the cup of your dreams or build them out to make a

NOTE: classes are 2 hours long, with 30 minutes included to carefully wrap up + store projects and clean our work stations!

about the class —

week 1 will focus on the basics of slabs, coils, and attachments. students will sketch out a project - it can be anything from a bug army to a jewelry box! we’ll work together and helping each other prepare slabs and coils, and begin constructing projects.

week 2 we’ll build build build! we’ll talk about how to keep projects sturdy and attachments in place, and students will spend the entire class handbuilding.

week 3 each student will add their finishing touches and detail work. funky handles! a little hat! a secret note carved in the bottom! pots will really develop character this week :) we’ll finish all had building work + talk about glazing!

week 4 we’ll cover the basics of brush on glazes, and students will wrap up their work.

pottery will be ready for pickup 1 week after your final class! we’ll aim to meet at the same time so everyone can share their work.
